1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small files that a website saves on your computer, phone or other device when you visit. They are widely used to make websites work, or work more efficiently, and to remember information about your visit.
2. What cookies does Trekked use?
We keep our use of cookies deliberately small. Trekked currently sets only the following cookies:
Essential / authentication cookies
Our authentication provider (Supabase) sets a small number of session cookies (with names beginning sb-) when you sign in. These cookies are strictly necessary to keep you signed in and to keep your account secure. Without them, you cannot use any signed-in features of Trekked.
Preference cookies
We set a NEXT_LOCALE cookie to remember the language you have chosen to view the site in, so we can show you the right language the next time you visit.
3. What cookies does Trekked not use?
We do not set:
- analytics cookies;
- advertising or marketing cookies;
- third-party tracking cookies;
- social media tracking cookies.
We use Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights to understand aggregate traffic and performance. These run in your browser but are privacy-friendly and cookie-free — they do not store cookies or other identifiers on your device.
4. Managing cookies
You can control and manage cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you view, delete and block cookies from particular sites. Be aware that if you block our essential cookies, you will not be able to sign in to Trekked.
5. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time if our use of cookies changes. Where the change is material, we will update the effective date below and, where appropriate, notify you directly.
6. More information
This Cookie Policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal information more broadly, and our Terms of Service.
If you have questions about how we use cookies, contact us at privacy@trekked.com.
